A quick guess at the top 5...

1. Dominik Hasek
2. Gilbert Perreault
3. Craig Ramsay
4. Rick Martin
5. Pat Lafonatine

Ramsay will likely be lower, but I've always felt he was underrated. One of the best defensive forwards of all time.

some nice names there. Surprised Mogilny isn't higher, but I can't pretend to know Sabres history. Idk Martin or Perreault, and I only recognize Craig Ramsay's name. Mogilny was an incredible scorer, could just dominate with that laser of a shot.

Nice job Kevin. Only some of the posters on here have been lucky enough to see all those listed play the game.

I wish I could have seen all of these names play.

I remember going to see the Andreychuk, Tergeron, Hawerchuk line, but that's my earliest Sabres memory. My dad called them the meatloaf line... I never understood why. I can't tell if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

Never heard that. I was lucky enough to have a neighbor that all the Sabres came over to go on fishing charters. Met a bunch of them back then.

Hasek was the better player, but there's definitely an argument for Perrault over him when you factor in longevity and relationship with the franchise/media.

Sounds about right, even though I'd swap Gilbert and the Dominator's places. I know everybody's not so hot on him at the moment, but Lindy Ruff should definitely be somewhere on this list if for no other reason than all the years he's been a part of the team. Just a thought.

I think it was he own line name. Maybe because it was a strange mix, but still did well and was hard to mess up?

That's the only thing I can think of when it comes to meatloaf. Haha.

Is it possible that Mogilny is underrated when it comes to general league wide thoughts?

If Satan is considered to be one of the 5 best Sabres ever, we really have been a terrible franchise. Above average scoring ability but extremely soft and one dimensional

If we are excluding players that didn't play 5 full seasons, we are going to have a very mediocre list
